Starting with my shoes on the right, from oldest to youngest.
I had this image/concept bouncing around in my head for several months where my boys where following in my foot-steps. It started with just my shoes and my youngest (over on the far left), but quickly morphed into all the boys dress shoes.
From there I went through several iterations of lighting before landing on this light.

This was shot on Kodak TMAX 100 B&W 120 medium format film with a Hasselblad 500 C/M.
The film was over-exposed 2 full stops at f/4.0 and 1/250s shutter.
It was developed in Kodak D-76 developer at 70 degrees fahrenheit for 7 minutes, 30 seconds.
It was fixed with Kodak Fixer for 10 minutes.
After it dried, it was scanned with a Canon Canoscan 9000F Mark II scanner at 9600 dpi and a custom wet mount solution. The scanning software was Vuescan Pro and it was scanned as a transparent image in full 48 bit RGB color to a tiff file with manual exposure. The resultant tiff file was gamma encoded by Vuescan at gamma 2.2.
The tiff file was opened in Adobe Photoshop, inverted, then converted to B&W. From there an unsharp mask was applied (300%, 3px, 0 threshold), then the image was cropped to 3:2 aspect ratio and saved out as a 16 bit greyscale tiff file.
The 16 bit greyscale tiff file was imported into Adobe Lightroom, and converted to an Adobe DNG file.
In the LR Develop module, the exposure was reduced by 1.33 stops, contrast +25, Whites +50, Blacks -18. The Tone Curve was linear, no sharpening, no noise reduction.
From there, the photo was cropped to the current aspect ratio (1:3) and leveled. The spot removal tool in heal mode was used to remove the various flecks of dust and hair that made it into the final image.
From there, the image was exported as a scaled down JPG (~300dpi) in the sRGB color space with standard screen sharpening, which is what was uploaded here.
