Book a Session Today

You can visit my online booking calendar, or alternatively, use the booking widget below.

Walk-ins are welcome Tues-Sat, 1PM-6PM. Customers with appointments take priority over walk-ins. Call us at 707-776-6150 if you want to check to see if we have any spots available before heading in as we may be either already booked, or may be doing a shoot on-site.

Download and print our standard photography contract and model release, fill it out and bring it with you to your shoot if you want to save some time, otherwise you’ll need to fill it out when you arrive.

Cancellation Policy

I require a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule appointments. Failure to do so means losing 50% of your session fee.

I’m pretty firm about this policy, but reasonable. I completely understand that life happens and sometimes things completely outside of our control totally conspires against us. For that reason, depending on the circumstances, and whether or not I can reschedule your session within a couple of days of your original appointment, I reserve the right to waive the cancellation fee on a per-case basis. The best thing you can do is communicate with me as early as possible if it looks like you may need to reschedule.

Types of Sessions Offered

IMPORTANT: If you don’t see something listed below, that doesn’t mean I don’t do it, so do feel free to contact me and ask.

The general workflow for all sessions is a short block of time at the beginning of the session getting the paperwork taken care of and discussing specifics of what you need to get out of the session, from there, 50-75% of the session time will be spent making the photos, and a short block of time at the end of the session picking out the best photos for retouching and delivery. From there, typically it’s 2-3 days to retouch the photos and deliver them.

The number of retouched photos you should expect from your shoot can vary wildly depending on the type and intention of the shoot and the subject being photographed, so while I don’t guarantee a minimum number of photos, I do list rough averages with each photo shoot type below. It’s less about crunching the numbers and more about getting the photos that are important to you. I’m not a “spray and pray” photographer, so while I do want to provide good value and provide a good selection of photos for you, at the same time, if you shoot with intention, the number of photos you typically generate over an hour of time is not nearly as many photos as you would think. The “hit rate” is a lot higher though. And that’s what I want to do for you. Let’s not shoot 200 photos over an hour time and hope we got something, but instead, let’s identify what’s important and of value to you and intentionally shoot to get that. If you stop to think about it, 200 raw photos over an hour of time is 1 photo every 18 seconds. How many of those do you think will actually be keepers? Do you want to wade through 200 photos to try to find something that you want, or would you rather have a smaller selection of really good choices?

All sessions include a shareable online gallery of the retouched photos at medium resolution (enough to make a very sharp 300 dpi 8×10 print, and more than enough for online usage) with options to purchase each full resolution photo and/or order prints of each photo. Each session also includes as part of the contract a rights/usage release of the retouched photos for personal use or business marketing material.

30 Minute Passport Photo Session

This session has but one purpose: Get a passport photo. If you are living here in the U.S. but are from another country and need a passport photo, I’m the man to talk to. I also do passport photos for U.S. citizens as well. I can produce a passport photo that meets any country specifications as long as I know what those specifications are. Included in the session is however many physical prints you need in the format required by your country along with any information that I would be required to provide as the photographer.

1 Hour Headshot Portrait Session

This session typically is best for getting headshots for social media profile photos, Linkedin profile photos, corporate or business headshot photos, or company individual staff photos, or Actor/Actress/Model headshots. These sessions tend to be pretty short and I typically shoot a variety of poses on a standard white background, a grey background, and/or a colored background of your choice. The goal is to get you in and out and on your way.

what you get is 1 retouched headshot with the option to purchase additional headshot images from the session for $49 each. A headshot is a headshot. Not everybody looks good in every pose, and many times you really only use the best single image of the bunch.

You can bring a couple of different outfits, however, we only have a maximum of 30-45 minutes of shooting time, so time spent changing outfits is time we’re not making images. If you want more than a couple of different outfits, or want to shoot more than a couple of different locations, then the 2 hour individual portrait/headshot session is a better fit.

2 Hour Individual Portrait or Headshot Session

This session can be an extension of the 1 hour session if you’re getting a headshot, or it can be a standard portrait session. This is best for school photos, graduation photos, creative portraits, lifestyle portraits, etc. Since it’s a bit longer, you can have more than one outfit, and more than 1 location. It also affords some time to slow down and have some fun and relax a bit (always better for portraits) and take a little longer at picking out which photos you want to have retouched.

The average number of retouched photos is 5-15, with a max of 20.

You can bring up to 4 different outfits. The maximum amount of time actually spent shooting is 60-90 minutes with 15-20 minutes at the end dedicated to reviewing and picking out photos for retouching.

2 Hour Couples Portrait Session

This session is very similar to the individual session, but includes 2 people. I typically will shoot a few poses of each person individually, and then the rest of the shooting time is spent with the couple together.

The average number of retouched photos is 10-20, with a max of 30.

You can bring up to 2 different outfits per person. The maximum amount of time actually spent shooting is 60-90 minutes with 15-20 minutes at the end dedicated to reviewing and picking out photos for retouching.

2 Hour Kids/Family/Group Portrait Session

This session has the widest variety of photos and the most variability in output, and is best suited for families, kids, small groups, etc. At the beginning of the session we’ll talk about which photos are the most important photos you want to get and work on getting those photos first. After we get at least a couple versions of each of the important photos, we’ll spend the rest of the shoot time just having some fun and getting those bonus “gravy shots”. I know that when shooting kids, they often are pretty much done or can’t go very long before needing a break, so this session is ideal to work within those constraints.

The average number of retouched photos is 10-30, with a max of 40.

The maximum amount of time actually spent shooting is 60-75 minutes, with 30 minutes at the end dedicated to reviewing and picking out photos for retouching.

3 Hour Kids/Family/Group Portrait Session

This session has a wide variety of photos and a lot of variability in output, and is best suited for families with 2-3 kids or groups of 4-7 people. At the beginning of the session we’ll talk about which photos are the most important photos you want to get and work on getting those photos first. After we get at least a couple versions of each of the important photos, we’ll spend the rest of the shoot time just having some fun and getting those bonus “gravy shots”. This length session is even better suited to shooting multiple kids as it can sometimes be a challenge to wrangle everybody into getting something that works.

The average number of retouched photos is 10-30, with a max of 40. It’s important to note that with the added time, the average number of photos doesn’t really increase, if anything, it goes down a bit because there are more people to wrangle and that always slows things down.

The maximum amount of time actually spent shooting is 90-120 minutes with 30-45 minutes at the end dedicated to reviewing and picking out photos for retouching.
